November Over Everything

DSC04246

I love November. Like, a lot. It’s a time to enjoy all the Halloween candy and fall foliage, good food and family, and the calm before the gift-buying, tree-erecting December frenzy.

This year, my anniversary falls on Thanksgiving. We did not plan it that way. We did not plan anything, really! We got married at the Justice of the Peace during my husband’s lunch break. Our “lunch break” marriage is what we call it, and that marriage has lasted 12 years so far (16 all together)! So it feels super-special to celebrate our love, longevity and family of 5 on our “Thanksiversary.” Hehe ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, the Baltimore Writer’s Conference is always in November. I went last year and loved the little fire it lit under my write-loving butt. Looking forward to attending again next weekend, perhaps with a few of my writer’s group friends.

Today I plan on taking a little hike in my backyard (there’s a state park literally in my back yard) to breathe in all the dank woodsy smells and hear the squirrels and other wildlifeโ€”including myself and my sonโ€”crunching the dry leaves beneath our feet. I love you, November.

Happy November, y’all!

Which month is your favorite and why?

  1. What a fun story! My husband and I just got married in May at what was supposed to be our engagement party. Just the day before it, we all sat down and decided to change it into a wedding. Figured, why the heck not? Saved us so much time and money!

Happy early anniversary to you!! So much to be thankful for ๐Ÿ™‚ November is a pretty great month!

  2. NOVEMBER IS THE BEST MONTH EVER! I SAID IT and I WILL SAY IT AGAIN! My favorite day of the year is November 1! It’s the day after the WORST day of the year, ha ha ha! That being said, I have a slight feeling November 12 mighttttttt trump it ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Yes! November is my favorite month for the same reasons and it’s my birthday month! ๐Ÿ˜€ Happy Thanksiversary! Also, I’m from Maryland originally (now in North Carolina) so when I see someone mention Baltimore I get all giddy. I really miss MD! I don’t know if we’ll ever move back (way too expensive) but my parents still live there as well as many of my childhood friends so I always look forward to visiting ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy November! โค

    1. Oh wow! Good to know! I’ve actually only lived here for almost a year and a half, but I really, really like it. Love its proximity to DC, Baltimore, Philly and NYC. Cant beat it! We moved here after 3 years in Hawaiiโ€”where the cost of living is even more than hereโ€”so it feels extra special. haha.

Thank you for the Thanksiversary love ๐Ÿ™‚ And a big HAPPY NOVEMBER to you too!
